Some people count down the days to retirement. Ronnie Bland is not one of those people.
After 22 years as an HVAC technician at Appleton Campbell, Ronnie has been promoted into a new leadership role, heading up the company’s HVAC Pro Path program, where he’ll mentor and train the next generation of technicians!
A Long Career, Well Earned
Ronnie has been a familiar face to Appleton Campbell customers across Northern Virginia for over two decades. In that time, he’s worked on just about everything, from aging furnaces and boilers to modern heat pumps and ductless systems, and built a reputation for doing the job right the first time.
That kind of range takes years to develop. A technician who’s diagnosed a failing heat exchanger in a 30-year-old furnace and also commissioned a brand-new ductless system in the same week has a different kind of knowledge than someone who’s only worked on newer equipment. It’s the kind of thing you can’t learn from a manual.
Passing It Down
That’s exactly what the Pro Path program is built around, getting that experience out of one person’s head and into the next generation of technicians. The people Ronnie mentors will learn how to handle AC repairs on a sweltering August afternoon, how to walk a homeowner through a heating system replacement without making it feel overwhelming, and how to spot indoor air quality issues that aren’t immediately obvious. That’s the stuff that makes a real difference on a service call.
CEO Michael Appleton put it simply: “We are incredibly grateful that he is choosing to stay with us, rather than retiring, and invest his knowledge into developing our future technicians. His leadership will strengthen our team for years to come.”
HVAC Services Across Northern Virginia
That commitment to quality doesn’t stop with how Appleton Campbell trains its technicians. It carries through to every service call. Whether it’s an AC that’s struggling to keep up in July or a heating bill that crept up over the winter without explanation, the team handles it all.
Cooling
- AC not keeping up, making noise, or just not performing the way it used to? Air conditioning repair is usually the first call.
- Older system that’s been repaired one too many times? The team can help you weigh AC replacement options without pressure.
- Rooms that never reach the right temperature? Ductless AC is worth exploring.
- No immediate issue? Seasonal service is the easiest way to avoid becoming one.
Heating
- Appleton Campbell works with furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps across Northern Virginia.
- If your system is aging or your heating costs have been climbing, it’s worth scheduling a maintenance visit before you’re dealing with a breakdown in February.
- Ready to replace? The team handles new installations and can help you figure out what makes sense for your home.
Indoor Air Quality
- If it’s been a few years since anyone looked at your ductwork, duct cleaning makes a noticeable difference in both air quality and system efficiency.
- Dealing with dust, allergens, or humidity issues? Indoor air quality services can help track down the root cause.
